About CMA

CMA is a professional designation.
CMA Alberta is a Society of fully qualified Certified Management Accountants. It is a profession designation representing CMAs who belong to a network of dedicated individuals performing to the highest ethical standards.

A Professional Designation
A CMA designation is recognized worldwide as a mark of expertise in management accounting.

CMAs are known to be highly skilled professionals who are active in every aspect of business operations. The designation is a passport to move virtually anywhere within any industry.

A Society
The 6,600 CMA members in Alberta and 47,000 nationwide govern themselves through a non-profit society known as CMA Canada.

The Society regulates its members under the authorization of provincial legislation. CMA Alberta maintains the highest standards, practices and professional conduct in management accounting to protect the public interest.

The Network
CMAs work together to help each other. They network through the Society and their own professional interests.

CMAs support one another to find the right person for the right position. Employers look to CMAs for the decision-makers in their organizations.

Ethical Standards
The Code of Professional Ethics developed by their professional society binds CMAs to the highest level of care.

This code states that CMAs have specific duties and responsibilities to their employers, clients, the public and their fellow professionals.
