Option 2: CMA Accelerated Program

The CMA Accelerated Program is an intensive, seven-month program that offers a fast-track option for degree holders missing the necessary prerequisites to challenge the CMA Entrance Exam. The program is offered twice a year: in September, leading to the June Entrance Exam, and in January, leading to the October Entrance Exam. Even for those who have the prerequisites, it's an excellent review. The program covers the following prerequisite topics:

• Intermediate Financial Accounting
  
• Advanced Management Accounting
  
• Advanced Financial Accounting
  
• Corporate Finance
  
• Operations Management
  
• Information Technology
  
• Strategic Management
  
• Marketing
  
• Taxation
  
• Human Resources
  
• Internal Control, Risk Management and Governance

The topics are covered in 22 lecture sessions and are guided by a CMA instructor. The program is offered through full-day Saturday lectures in Calgary, Edmonton and Fort McMurray, allowing you to continue working full-time. The program also is offered through distance learning.

Each student enrolled in the CMA Accelerated Program must achieve a minimum of 60 per cent in each of the prerequisite topics listed above.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Accelerated Program, candidates must:

• have a recognized degree; and
  
• have a grade of 60 per cent or higher in the four CMA prerequisite studies: Introductory Management Accounting, Introductory Financial Accounting, Economics and Statistics.
