CMA Entrance Exam

The objective of the CMA Entrance Exam is to test that Candidates have the required competency in technical accounting and can demonstrate a thorough understanding of strategy and management. Upon successful completion of the Entrance Exam, Candidates proceed into one of four CMA professional programs: CMA Strategic Leadership Program, CMA for MBA, CMA-CPFA Dual-Designation Program or the CMA Executive Program.

The Entrance Exam is held twice each year, in mid-June and mid-October. The exam is four hours in duration and is comprised of approximately 100-120 multiple choice questions. See the exam syllabus for more information. The pass mark for the exam is 60%.

Transcript evaluation
CMA Alberta will need to complete a transcript evaluation to determine your eligibility for the CMA Entrance Exam.

Write the Entrance Exam
If you have had your transcripts reviewed and are eligible for the Entrance Exam, select one of the following options below:

Register online if you are paying by credit card. Please ensure you select wheter you will be writing the exam in Edmonton or Calgary.

Fill out the Entrance Exam application form if you are paying by cheque or using online banking

Fill out the Entrance Exam application form if you are eligible for a complimentary write

Fill out the Entrance Exam application form if you have graduated from a CMA Accredited Program.

The next deadline for the CMA Entrance Exam is September 5, 2008. The next Entrance Exam is scheduled for October 14, 2008.


Refund Policy
Full refunds will be given prior to September 5, 2008. Refunds after September 5, 2008 and prior to October 10, 2008 will be refunded less $75 plus GST administration fee. No refunds will be granted after October 10, 2008.
