General overview
The C-Suite Series provides senior-level managers with a unique opportunity to build and enhance their skill
set through leading-edge topics that influence the work of executive-level professionals. The four-day
session carefully examines the business challenges facing senior executives and offers an unparalleled
opportunity to engage with peers in a small, intimate environment. The series will take place in Banff,
Alberta, at the prestigious Rimrock Hotel, allowing attendees to learn in a relaxing, picturesque
environment.
Who should attend
The C-Suite Series is open to all executive-level professionals and those who aspire to be in
executive-level positions. Senior executives are also encouraged to invite high achievers in their
organization who are working towards achieving a senior-level position.
A unique learning opportunity
The C-Suite Series incorporates all areas of the CMA Competency Map, thereby allowing senior
executives to hone their unique skill set. The series will examine:
- effective ways to lead during uncertain economic times;
- how to use strategy mapping to effectively identify, assess and manage strategic risks;
- how to implement a successful Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to do risk assessments and manage
correlated and compound risks;
- ethical behaviour and professional standards related to the strategic management accounting
profession;
- an executive’s role in the transition to IFRS and reviewing IFRS statements;
- the link between an organization’s strategic objectives and risk and financial objectives;
- communication tools and techniques for executives;
- comparing the ‘beyond budgeting’ model to traditional budgeting models; and
- the role of scorecards and dashboards and how to build them effectively.
Unique learning environment
The C-Suite Series allows attendees to interact with a small cohort of peers. Only 20 spots are
available and registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. CMA Alberta highly recommends that
all interested members register early to ensure their spot is reserved.

Accommodation and fees
The cost to attend is $5,000 plus GST. The price includes accommodation and meals. Upon registering
for the series, CMA Alberta will book accommodations for all confirmed attendees.
