CMA International Accounting Designation Scholarship

The CMA International Accounting Designation Scholarship is for professionals with an international accounting designation. It will cover all CMA pre-professional and professional program costs, valued at approximately $12,200.

Scholarship details
The scholarship covers the following CMA program components:

Note: This scholarship cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash.

Qualification criteria
Applicants must:

  • Have immigrated to Alberta in the last three years
  • Hold a recognized international degree
  • Hold an international accounting designation  which does not fall within CMA’s existing Mutual Recognition Agreements or advanced standing policies  
  • Be a member in good standing
  • Have obtained CMA Accelerated Program prerequisites through their international degree
  • Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least eight
  • Become a CMA associate

    How to apply
    1) Sign up to become a CMA Associate
    2) Fill out the CMA International Accounting Designation Scholarship application form
    3) Send the documents listed below to:

    Documents
    • Proof of immigration status
    • Proof of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score
    • Documentation of foreign credentials that have been officially evaluated by a professional body such as International Qualification Assessment Services (IQAS), World Education Services (WES), or International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES)
    • A completed scholarship application form
    • A 250-word essay outlining why you would like to become a CMA
    • Your resume, including references
